Its built-in compressor means no frozen bowl and no pre-frozen base, and it makes 1.5 quarts with a 3-year warranty. It costs more than the Ninja at list ($379.95) and has a timer rather than programs.
It makes 1.5 quarts per batch, three times a CREAMi pint, and has a 3-year warranty, for about a fifth of the list price. The catch is that its bowl has to be frozen before every batch.
It uses the same freeze-the-pint method with 11 programs and bigger 24 oz pints, for $100 less at list. It has no soft-serve dispensing, which is the main reason to buy the Scoop & Swirl.
Same 16 oz pint, same 800 W motor and same 1-year warranty for $120 less at list. You get 7 programs instead of 13 and no soft serve.
The biggest compressor batch here at 2.1 quarts, and you can churn a fresh base right away with no pre-freezing. It weighs 24.25 lb and has a 1-year warranty and no programs.
Batch size and how the machine gets cold decide most of the choice. Compressor machines and Ninja's CREAMi need no frozen bowl or ice. The CREAMi works differently, though: you freeze the base in its pint for about a day, then the machine shaves it. Freezer-bowl and ice-and-salt machines cost far less but need the bowl frozen or a bucket of ice before every batch.
The overall ranking on the Ninja CREAMi Scoop & Swirl alternatives page weighs every published spec. This page answers one question only, so a model can rank first here and lower overall. The DupeScore beside each model is the overall figure.
